SPORT(S) ON FUZZ?!
Hey, we got the LOCAL function here, where you can sort yourself into or add yourself to a town (region). What do you think of a comparable INTEREST function?
Like e.g. Sport, Politics (haha, we better avoid that!), Globality...
The question goes to Fuzz staff as well as users. Of course the main topic / interest here is music, but it would not do harm to broaden the perspectives of Fuzz.

Do you mean assigning yourself to a particular interest group or forum? Perhaps even a badge or something to denote association with a particular group? Interesting idea...

Yeah, like I saw lots of users signing up with sports (e.g. baseball) shots as profile pics, so there must be a lot of interest for that. Also many users obiously are interested in so called alternative energies, or animals. So it could be something like the local set ups (SF and Seattle), where items regarding these regions can be posted and discussed, why not set sth. similar or the same up for e.g. sports or energy? It must not exclude the local function, if you program accordingly. E.g some applies himself to San Francisco and sports, or to Seattle and the energy topic.

A community should be diverse, although a community should also be interested in itself, and that is the one thing that we lack here. There seems to be a few movers and shakers, and a large silent or non-communicative populus, who may or may not know they can contribute. It seems the only people who read here, are the ones who write here. Just my observation since Jan. 2008. But if you look on the people pages there are always small conversations going on, which seems to be the focus of activity.

WebOfDistress, this is not only the case here but as far as I can see everywhere else too. Most people speak mainly to their personal friends and noone else. But most people also have some things they are very interested in, so the more they get offered of those things the more they will take part. E.g. many people like music but it's not their main interest, let's say a couple of students are more interested in baseball, or a couple of young parents are interested in family activities in their region... So when they have a chance to exchange thoughts with others of the same interest they might jump in.
